Video: Joe Campos TV Ad for Lt. Governor Race
Democratic Lt. Governor candidate Joe Campos just announced on Twitter that he uploaded his first TV ad onto YouTube (see above). It's a 30-second spot that features a variety of folks saying positive things about Joe and mentioning the elected positions he's held. The ad calls attention to Campos' experience as a county commissioner, mayor, legislator and small business owner, and stresses his man-of-the-people qualities. "He's one of us." At the end, Campos talks to the camera, saying "it's always been about people," adding that "working together we can make a difference," in both Spanish and English. I like it.
Joe is such a good guy, dedicated, hardworking and friendly and I think this ad captures that. Good job.

Will it be on broadcast or cable TV, or just the internet and his website?

Great ad that captures the NM spirit. No false claims, pure Joe.

What a scam, Joe has no money for TV.

Joe's campaign should be proud of this ad. It's NM all the way.

This ad highlights Campos' experience as a commissioner, mayor, and legislator. He has been elected to office on seven occasions. No other candidate has those credentials.
I think most voters would prefer someone who knows their way around government and can get things done rather than candidates like Colon and Rael who have not been elected to public office and hope to substitute administrative experience for governing experience.

@ChristinaC: This ad must have been paid for after 5/3 because there were no media expenditures on Joe's 5/11 report. The simple math is that Joe doesn't have as much money for TV as the other two contenders, unless he ponies up another $50K or so out of his own pocket. That's always possible for a candidate who can self-fund. Lawrence Rael has lent himself more, after all.
By the way, nice bio ad, Joe. Having other people say who you are is a classy touch. I particularly like the guy who says, "Jose Campos? He's a Democrat!" I like it when campaign ads say true things.
