New DGA Ad Targets Susana Martinez Cronyism Scandals

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA) says it launched a new television campaign today "exposing the truth about Republican Susana Martinez’s newly revealed cronyism scandals." The ad is the first in the campaign and, according to the DGA, it "lays out a disturbing pattern of dishonesty recently brought to light by the New Mexico press corps." The DGA also released documentation (pdf) to back up the claims made in the ad.

Susana Martinez wasted money that should have been used to secure the border on bonuses for her top staff, but that’s just the beginning,” said Emily Bittner, communications director for the DGA, in a statement released today. “As New Mexico voters learn more about the real Susana Martinez, they will see that she’s just another politician who can’t be trusted. New Mexico deserves a governor who will fight for working families, not just her office favorites. Fortunately, New Mexico voters have on their side.”

The 30-second spot, “Scandal,” is running at saturation levels statewide in New Mexico according to the DGA. The ad highlights recent scandals uncovered by state newspapers that detail how Martinez wasted money that should have been used in connection with border security to instead pay massive bonuses to her top staff. Martinez also gave a top staffer a sweetheart no-bid contract. The DGA also noted that Martinez has not been straight with the people of New Mexico, like when she recently denied her well-documented support for school vouchers that would strip funds from public schools.

Susana is a phony. Ask any honest person in Dona Ana County. Don't be fooled.

I see Susana's big fan Heathie is defending the use of the money for big bonuses. Even the Albuquerque Journal agrees the bonuses were bogus https://tinyurl.com/25afl98

Heath's mask is slipping.

Upping some pay for extra work is one thing. The huge payments Susana made to her pals is quite another. I hope she keeps getting nailed on this.

I would like to see the results of a lie detector on this candidate(SM). Maybe not admissible in court, but probably helpful on election day.

So when Susana points out that 70% of her prosecutorial staff earns less than Denish's scheduler, who doesn't even maintain a schedule, what will voters think of this ad and Trust Fund Di?

No matter what you try to say to direct attention away from lying Susana the fact remains she used big blobs of border security money to reward her political cronies in her office AND made sure another crony got a no-bid contract for office supplies. Susana kept buying the supplies that way even when the Dept. of Finance and Administration told her to stop.
