Diane Denish Raises Almost $300K in One Month, Has $2.7 Million On Hand for Governor's Race

DianeDenish Now this is some impressive fundraising for the month and overall -- and it doesn't entail the candidate making large personal loans to the campaign like some of the Republican gubernatorial candidates are doing. After raising $295,198.15 in the most recent finance period, the for Governor campaign reported more than $2.7 million in the bank for the governor’s race. In a strong showing of grassroots strength, the campaign said it will report that over half of its 9,416 contributions (5,491) have been for $100 or less.

"New Mexicans are tired of the same old political attacks; they want new, specific ideas to turn this economy around and get our state back to work," Denish said in a statement released today. "I’m the only candidate in this race with a specific plan to create jobs at our small businesses and reform state government. New Mexicans know I won't make promises I can't keep, and as Governor, I'm going to work hard every day on things that are important to New Mexicans -- jobs, education and reforming state government."

"There’s a reason why so many New Mexicans are excited about Diane and are making contributions to her campaign. When families turn on their TVs, they see the Republican candidates for Governor running on platitudes, sound bytes and empty promises. New Mexicans are asking ‘where’s the beef?’" said Ted F. Martinez, Denish’s campaign chairman. “New Mexico families are ready for a different kind of Governor – someone who's a straight shooter and truly understands their concerns -- and that's Diane."

Denish has a track record of job creation as Lt. Governor and she recently announced a at New Mexico's small businesses through increasing access to capital, helping local banks make more loans in their communities, cutting government red tape and offering a tax credit linked directly to job creation.

Excellent news! GOP candidates like Weh and Turner are paying for their campaigns out of pocket. Not Diane!
