Edwards' Iraq Ad: I Like It

I encourage you to visit JohnEdwards.com/WeThePeople/ and donate a few bucks to keep this ad on the air. I just did. You can also upload a clip of yourself stating your We The People opinion on Iraq for use in the online version of the ad. Edwards definitely seems to be staking out one of the strongest bring-the-troops-home-now Iraq war positions of the prez candidates (along with Richardson and Kucinich). Thank goodness someone is. Our House and Senate Dems need a constant push to keep up the fight. Right after Bush's veto of the war funding bill, rumors of "compromising" with Bush about a firm deadline popped up everywhere. Let's encourage our Dems stand their ground!

John Edwards can be counted on to get this country out of Iraq. Edwards recognizes the need for long term solutions by going after the roots of terrorism. We could very well see a substantial movement toward middle-class well-being and competent governance under his administration.
But...,
when it comes to actual detail, I think that Richardson's is the most realistic and effective plan for Iraq. His views on this issue are worth looking up and understanding.
I thought that Biden's plan could work but judging from the response of the Iraqi's to an our attempt to segregate the religious factions, the Iraqi's do not want separate enclaves. The wall was nixed.
Kucinich is right in saying that there is enough funding already in the pipe-line to shut down the Green Zone and mobilize out. There is money enough to do this WITHOUT FURTHER FUNDING.
We can expect Hillary to do the bidding of the LIKUD regarding the Middle East. This country would not elect a woman.
Obama would make a good figure-head but unless Dems want to go with the Rep style of a hands off president, Obama doesn't have enough experience. This country would not elect a Black.

gofdisks-I agree with everything you said. Your comments are on target. I think the worst thing that could happen would be a win by Obama or Hillary, for the reasons you state.

Kucinich has no chance of winning and Richardson has a slim one. Too bad so many of his domestic policies are so out of sync with most Democrats, especially his economic and trade positions. Edwards may be our best chance at real change and progress and he DOES have a good chance to win. Of course there's always the chance that Gore might step in if the field stays locked as it is.

I love what Feingold has to say about caving to Bush on the Iraq funding:
