(Updated) Watch First Dem Prez Candidate Forum Today on C-SPAN

UPDATE: You can watch the entire candidate forum on REAL video from C-Span. Click here.
************

The first candidate forum for Democratic presidential candidates will take place today in Carson City, Nevada. It's sponsored by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). The audience will consist primarily of the union members, a group John Edwards has courted for many months. All but one of the probable candidates will participate, including Gov. Bill Richardson. Only Barack Obama will miss the forum and instead will be at an event in Iowa. Nevada's primary caucus was moved up to January 19, 2008, just after Iowa's and before New Hampshire's primary, after receiving the approval of the DNC.

Each candidate will take the stage alone and answer a few questions. They'll also have a chance to making an opening and closing statement. The event will be aired live on C-SPAN TV at 1:00 PM MST, as well as video streamed live and audio streamed live at the C-SPAN website. ABC News has also indicated it will provide some coverage.

This is one of the few places that mentions the format, and that it is being sponsored by AFSCME (the other was NPR news this morning). Thank you! Also, I don't have cable or satellite, so it is good to know where else to see it.

I'm not a Kucinich supporter but I agreed with his positions the most and much of what this Gravel guy said too. The others came across as saying vague things and acting much more courageous than they really are on issues. Who are they fooling? I refuse to vote for any candidate that voted for the Iraq war. If WE knew Bush couldn't be trusted, why didn't they?

My favorite quote by Kucinich:

“I know it must be really tough for candidates for president to come before the American people and claim they there tricked, deceived or misled ... by George Bush.”

My thoughts exactly. Funny how millions around the world weren't fooled.

Did you catch how Hillary did a fake blush and said she thinks Bill's presidency was peachy keen? My response? Only in comparison to the presidents who went before and after him. You don't have to do much to look good compared with Reagan or Dubya.

He was a horrible Democrat. Giving away the store to multinational corporations and banking concerns with trade agreements and the like. Giving away the store to big media conglomerates by signing the telecom bill. Not doing a damned thing for gay folks who gave him tons of money and volunteer hours. He cut welfare. He was in on the hi tech boom that crashed. Big deal. We don't need that again in the form of his wifie poo. And Richardson is in like flynn with the Clintons, remember.

Obama or Edwards for me.
