Dems Take Over: Welcome the New Congress

PoliticsTV.com has a bunch of mini-interviews with members of the 110th U.S. Congress, who are being sworn in today. Here's one featuring our own Rep. Tom Udall (D-NM-03), who names global warming as one of today's top issues. Go check out some more. Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi, the first woman ever to serve as Speaker of the House, took the gavel this morning. She'll have her hands full riding herd on all those Dem cats. So will we.

It was fun to watch all the loooong faces on the other side of the isle today as the House held their first votes of the 110th congress. Of course there was much whining coming from over there about minority inclusion and rights, you know, all that stuff that the Democratic minority was not given any consideration on. Anyway it was a pleasure to see Democrats controlling the vote outcome after so many years of being left out.

Especially Dennis Hastert. He looked like he was a funeral and he was in a way. I think it was finally setting in on the Republicans that they wouldn't be ruling any longer. Pelosi's speech was very good. Making history (herstory)!
