NM DNC Members Now Endorse Dean for Chair

From Charlotte Roybal:

Good news. The NM DNC members have all endorsed Howard Dean. It has all happened since Monday. I spoke with John Wertheim, State Chair, today and he told me. I had talked to Gloria Nieto and she and Annadelle Sanchez who both went with the Hispanic Caucus on Monday. I spoke with Raymond Sanchez and he is on board. The one we forgot to ask is Patricia Madrid and I saw her today and she said she was on board now that her candidate dropped out. So good job DFAers and other for helping Dean.

I also attended the Progressive Democrats of America Conference in DC and would love to give a presentation  any progressive group in NM about it.  Let me know at (505) 930-0563 or email: croybal@aol.com  I also met with Chris Warshaw from DFA.

The web site is: www.pdamerica.com

Editor's Note: DFNM is an ally/partner organization of Progessive Democrats of America, and Howard Dean is a supporter. Here's a that support PDA.

This is great news! What is the national total now of DNC members who have said they will vote for Governor Dean for chairman?

Go to Democracy for America web site and there is a list of endorsements. PS Simon Rosenberg dropped out today too!

We went to the DFA website and there was an item posted today ("Governor Dean Announces New Supporters") which states that Dean now has 250 voting members representing 241.75 votes.

Our understanding is that he needs 224 votes (over half of the 447 total votes) to win. From these numbers, it looks like he's got the votes to win now. Is this correct?

This is great news, especially as we were told at Meetup in January that none of these folks were planning to vote for Dean on the first ballot! And now, according to the AP, Richardson has also endoresed Dean, just before the train has left the station. Richardson also said "he won it fair and square", as though the election was already past. I still won't count the votes until they're cast next Saturday. I remember how January 2004 felt.

Yes, we cannot celebrate til Feb 12th and the vote is finalized. I will be in AZ at the Progressive Demcrats for America Southwest Conference on Feb 12th and will report back on that.
