Public's Iraq War Support Continues Dive

77 percent: Number of Americans who believe the Iraq war is going badly, according to a new CBS News poll. The disapproval level is a new high, “up from 66 percent just two months ago. Nearly half, 47 percent, say it’s going very badly.” (h/t Think Progress)

So how high does the disapproval rating have to go before Nancy gets the message that its time to IMPEACH ???

I'd love to see impeachment but I really think it would lengthen the war and jeopardize our chances in 2008. If we don't have the votes to cut off funds how could we have the votes to impeach? I think it's too late in Bush's administration to do it effectively. Our main goal should be to get a Democratic president in there and gain more Senate seats.

IMO its irrelevant if we have the votes or not, its really about supporting the Constitution. I don't buy the notion that "its going to hurt our chances in 08", if they (Congress) are putting their political careers ahead of the rule of law and the Constitution then they don't deserve to be re-elected. I think indecision and lack of spine will threaten electing a Dem President and gaining more seats far greater than a well made case for impeachment.

I agree with Old Dem. What's going on to support the Constitution are all those oversight hearings and subpoenas being issued that are laying bare what is going on in the evil Bush White House.

Unfortunately Republicans cheapened impeachment to the level of a purely political tool so effectively during Clinton that its pretty much useless right now. I don't see what good it would do to sit around arguing in Congress about impeachment and spending the huge sums it would take to do it.

I hope the D's focus on stopping the war one way or another as last months of Bush pass by. Stop the killing!

I don't think it's about saving the political futures of those in Congress but saving the planet by getting Bush out of there in 2008.

I supported impeachment earlier but I think its time has come and gone. We need to beat these crooks on the issues and win big with our ideas for the future. Too much is at stake.

How about impeaching Cheney instead? It would be easier and he's the one behind so much of the law breaking in the White House. Read this-

I don't care if it is wise or not. I want Cheney and or Bush and or Gonzales IMPEACHED. Nothing less. If we let these pigs get away with this now we'll never be able to stop anyone from doing it again. They are setting a dangerous precedent and if they are't stopped more will go down this path.
