Richard Romero Joins Albuquerque Meetups

veteranspeechWe've learned that the Democratic candidate for Congressional District 1, Richard Romero, will be stopping by at both our NE Heights and West Side Meetups today. Also, Dory Shonagon, who was in Boston for the convention as a volunteer, will report on her experiences at various "shadow convention" events featuring Howard Dean and other progressives, as well as her reflections on the convention.

Hello everyone! I hoped everyone enjoyed my speech on voter registration at the DFA meetup at Page One today on 8/4/2004. Please visit the URL or call (505) 256-1855 between 11am and 2pm during the week to find out how you can get involved with the Democratic Party to register voters in New Mexico! Thanks Barbara for another great meetup. I am glad that the Democratic Convention started to promote the idea of being positive and running a positive campaign. Negative ads really do turn off voters, especially the uninformed voters. I liked how one of the members moderated the meetup tonight because I feel like we accomplish more when people aren't constantly speaking out of turn. Maybe we should go back to what we learned back in school by raising hands to speak. Many people participated in that manner tonight and I thought it worked out great! Everyone got a chance to talk and we had a productive meeting. Keep up the great work everyone!

I agree! It was a very meeting with lots of good information exchanged.
I definitely enjoyed the report given by Howard. Thank you very much for presenting it, Howard, and for doing the voter registration drive!
I'd also like to echo Howard with a hearty "Keep up the good work, everyone!"

Really....I leave there last nite feeling jazzed!!!
Howard your presentaion and information were excellent! I have been wondering about those exact things you mentioned. It would be great to get some updates. And I do understand your concern over trolls getting the info. But maybe we report on the numbers and stats at each meetup til the election. Also, let us know about the school startup registration drive....a few of us might want to go help.
So...in my mind it was another good meetup...some new faces...concerned citizens trying to get involved. Sharing of ideas...and energies....in this time of so much craziness, it is a life line!
Thanks everybody!!!

Thanks, Howard! You did a great job yourself and those statistics were very heartening! Mary Ellen makes a good Meetup Cop, doesn't she?
