This topic is near and dear to Patsy's heart as per her humble roots.
Her immediate family is not rich and comprised of typical American status. As per typical NM culture, family is close and dear.
Her parents are very elderly and dealing with overwhelming end of life issues. They have to track many medications juggling dosing schedules. The new medicare plan added a great deal of burden to this process with all the confusing choices amongst self-serving profiteering pharma interests. The increased cost of their medications will demand a larger share of their fixed income.
The Bush prescription drug bill hit the AG's family personally as well as her being in a position to listen and hear of all the hardships this has caused many families across the state.
She cares that New Mexicans have good affordable and fair medical access. She is very knowledgable on the subject and we New Mexicans can trust her to take care of us.
