Madrid to Give National Dem Radio Address Saturday Morning

UPDATE: New Mexico Matters has an excellent report by guest blogger Suzanne Prescott  on Thursday's press conference by Patricia Madrid on ways to make the Medicare Drug Program work. Well worth a read.

From Madrid for Congress:
New Mexico Attorney General Patricia Madrid – as a sign of the strength of her campaign to unseat Rep. Heather Wilson – on Saturday will be the first Democratic challenger of the 2006 cycle to give the national Democratic Radio Address when she speaks to a national audience about the failed Medicare prescription drug legislation and the failing policies of the Bush Administration and Republicans in Congress. Madrid's radio address can be heard locally on KKOB-770 AM at 9:06 AM MST on Saturday, February 18.

I don't listen to KKOB but I went to their website and looked at their regular talk show lineup during the week. Could that be a clue?

Was her speech ever broadcast on KKOB AM?

Patsy's speech was broadcast nationally but KKOB refused to broadcast it locally!
Is this hate radio? Please call KKOB and express your displeasure at obvious media bias.

I guess they did not want Patsy's constituents to hear the truth about what a boondogle the Bushco prescription drug bill is for big pharma and how it is failing our most vulnerable citizens.

Corporate media is pulling this trick all the way to the top refusing to allow our liberal leaders to be heard.

According to an article in this morning's Albuquerque Journal, KKOB AM hasn't broadcast either the Dem response or Bush radio address for some time. I guess the home for Rush Limbaugh's distorted diatribes doesn't want to concern itself with real political news, just invective-filled rants.

At any rate, the article said it was the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in Washington DC that handled the radio address with ABC radio, and who put out the notice that Madrid's speech would be aired on KKOB AM here.
