10/20: Pledge to Never Get Sick at ABQ Rally 'In Support' of Insurance CEOs and Profits
NOTE: Because of heavy rain in Albuquerque on the day this event was originally scheduled, it was cancelled and RESCHEDULED for Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the same time and place.
From the Committee of Interns and Residents of SEIU Healthcare and Health Care for America Now:
I Promise To Never Get Sick!
That’s an absurd promise, right? No sickness, no accidents, no medical care or treatment . . . nothing for the rest of your life.
Well guess what: that’s the insurance industry’s plan for health care reform: Don’t Get Sick! If you don’t get sick, they can make a bigger profit off of your premiums. And if you do get sick, they can just deny your coverage!
It’s not surprising, then, that the insurance industry is spending more than $640,000.00 every day to defeat quality health care reform. It’s time we let everyone know what they’re really up to.
So come join a satirical rally in support of CEO Profits! Sign our banner-sized pledge to Never Again Get Sick for the Rest of Your Life! We’ll have humorous speeches glorifying CEOs and the profits they reap off of our families’ health and sickness. The details:
- WHAT: A rally “in support” of CEOs and their profits!
- WHEN: Tuesday, October 20, 6:00 PM
- WHERE: The field across the street from Presbyterian Hospital (on the NE corner of Central and Cedar).
