Brian Colón Reports Raising $100,000 for Lt. Governor Campaign; More Fundraisers Set
In an email to supporters, Brian Colón said his campaign is continuing to focus on fundraising efforts as this quarter's October 5th deadline nears. He reports that the campaign has managed to raise more than $100,000 in less than a month, competing with candidates who have been raising money for nearly two months. About $20,000 of the total was raised online at Act Blue. (Click to donate.)
Colón also reports he's been traveling the state and having a wonderful time of it, despite losing some sleep in the process. Of late, he participated in a candidate forum hosted by the Democratic Party of Santa Fe, attended a meeting of the Northern Navajo Agency Council in Shiprock, visited Santa Fe for an event supporting State Treasurer James Lewis and spent an evening at the New Mexico State Fair with his family, meeting folks from all over New Mexico.
His next trip took him to northern New Mexico, with stops in Peñasco, Dixon (great apples), Velarde, Ojo Sarco, Truchas, Hernandez, Alcalde and Arroyo Seco. He also attended a meeting with several Native American leaders from northern New Mexico hosted by Sen. Carlos Cisneros. At his latest fundraiser, at the home of Angela and Nestor Romero and co-hosted by Michael Padilla, Colón exceeded his goal of raising $25,000 during the evening.
Future fundraisers include:
- Tuesday, September 22 (png) at the Narvaez Law Firm in Albuquerque.
- Tuesday, September 29th (pdf) at the home of Pawan & Gurminder Dhindsa in Santa Fe -- the major fundraiser in Santa Fe for the quarter.
- Wednesday, September 30th (pdf) in Rio Arriba County at JoAnn’s Ranch O Casados Restaurant in Española. This will be a fun event with tickets costing 100.00 each. Door prizes will be drawn (including a Big Screen TV—need not be present to win).
- Thursday, October 1st at Monte’s in Albuquerque. This will be a fun event with great food, wine and cigars at Monte’s. Please mark this event on your calendar if you want to stop by for a relaxing evening with great friends and Team Colón.

Mr. Colon
I am a member of the Democratic Women's Club in Rio Rancho. In December, we will conduct a forum with 3 candidates running for Lt. Governor.
I believe the date is scheduled for December 16th. I would like to invite you to be one of the candidates at the forum. We have not had a chance to meet yet on the exact structure of the forum, but I wanted to ensure you had plenty of time to plan for it.
Please let me know if you are available on that date.
Thank you in advance,
Linda Allison
