National Veterans' Organization Thanks Rep. Teague for Energy Bill Vote

VoteVets.org, the largest progressive group of veterans in America, is running ads like these across the country in order to "thank those who put American Security first, by voting for the American Clean Energy and Security Act." Despite his freshman status, Rep. Harry Teague (NM-02) has been a leading supporter of veterans' issues in the U.S. House. Now vets across the nation are also pleased with his vote to help America become energy independent. Congressman Teague serves on the House Veteran's Affairs Committee

In contrast Stevan Pearce, Teague's newly announced GOP challenger in the 2010 race, had a weak record on many veterans' issues while serving as Teague's predecessor. For instance, in a letter to the Alamogodo News last year, Paul L. Balaich said:

Over the past several years I have documented the lack of support Rep. Pearce has devoted to the veterans community. His record of support of legislation for military veterans is vividly shown in records of the Library of Congress, or at www.thomas.gov (legislative information on the Internet).

... Additionally, Pearce has only supported one of 17 veterans bills currently under consideration in the House of Representatives. One of the 17 bills Pearce has not signed on to is HHR 515, to amend Title 38 of the U. S. Code to provide for an adequate level of funding for veterans health care.

The letter goes on to relate that Pearce received a grade of C- from the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) on his votes regarding issues concerning U. S. troops, Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans and military families.

I'm sure glad Teague is getting some help from the vets. He is getting ambushed, shouted at, etc by the Republican right wing fringe down in SE NM.

No doubt, and they're using lame ass, rude tactics (looking like spoiled kids) to try and make Teague look bad too. So funny (and ironic) that they're trying to make Pearce seem like this awesome guy.

There's a reason Pearce has to back track and run for his old seat. He was a failure running for Senate and he would be a failure running for Governor. He has no choice but to retreat and try to dazzle CD2 voters with the same bull pucky he tried before. But it's 2006 anymore.

Rep. Teague needs to following this rule with regards to government run Healthcare. If he support and votes for the Healthcare Bill and the government run healthcare he should be expected to support Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) bill and urge ALL members who vote to create a government-run health insurance agency to GIVE UP there comprehensive health insurance plans and join the new public option he is advocating for ALL AMERICANS. He must become the inaugural customers of this government-run health-care to include his family. If he feels it is good for ALL Americans he and his family should be leading the way. Don't you agree. If so email Rep. Teague and let him know this. L. Weber, IND.

We need to find someone who will not kill our country economically as well as an avid supporter of the military and vets alike! We can't let Obama and his socialist run government keep spending. If it keeps going like this the FIRST thing Obama will cut is spending on the military AND veteran benefits. Mark my word. Teague and the rest of them need to go!
