Attend an APS Board Candidate Forum

Albuquerque Public School Board elections are set for February 3, 2009 for Districts 3, 5, 6 and 7. Those who want to vote absentee can request applications at the Clerk's Office or by calling 468-1291 or e-mailing clerk@bernco.gov. Early in-person voting has also begun at the APS City Center Building, 6400 Uptown NE, and at the Clerk’s Office Annex Downtown, 620 Lomas NW. According to an item in the Albuquerque Journal, a number of public forums will be held over the next few weeks where you can check out candidates running for slots on the Albuquerque Public School Board:

Districts 3, 5, 6, 7:

  • Thursday, January 15, 6:00 PM, APS City Centre Building, John Milne Community Board Room, 6400 Uptown NE, Hosted by APS

  • Saturday, January 17, 10:00 AM, UNM Law School, Room 2405, Hosted by Democratic Party of Bernalillo County

  • Thursday, January 22, 6:00 PM, Anti-Racism in Education, La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper NE, Hosted by Highland High School Community Schools project

District 3 (North Valley and Northern West Side):

  • Thursday, January 15, 8:00 PM, Raymond G. Sanchez Community Center, 9800 Fourth Street NW, Hosted by Alameda Neighborhood Association

District 6 (Foothills, Four Hills, East Mountains):

  • Saturday, January 24, 9:30 AM, Lomas/Tramway Library, Hosted by Democratic Party of Bernalillo County

District 7 (Far NE Heights):
