The Dems are pointing out that just yesterday, Bush opened up the National Petroleum Reserve for oil exploration. They claim that after almost 8 years the president chooses to act now the day before the Dems introduce this Drill Now Bill. Is Bush trying to steal thunder from Dems taking action?
The charm of this bill is that it requires that an oil lease expire if not exploited after a set time. That opens up drilling to "someone who will drill." It's called use it or lose it.

The Drill bill did not pass.this is another victory for the Big Oil companies sitting on oil leases.

Why would I believe that the two oil men in the WH are interested in doing anything that could reduce the record profits their cronies in big oil are making?
